P5/6 having fun with science!

We made Balloon Rockets by Using balloons, string, masking tape and straws. We tested these out and then we changed one variable to see what difference it would make to the experiment. We had lots of fun, although Mrs Walker did not like the balloons being blown up too big!! We are now in the process of writing a science report to confirm our findings.

Dr Walker, a scientist from another school (actually Mrs Walker’s daughter!) came to visit. She taught us all about how the senses work together. We learned that it is difficult to identify particular smells when you can’t see what it is. We also carried out some optical illusions and learned how to trick our brains!
