Patterns and percussion in Primary 1

We have been learning the correct names for percussion instruments and developing our knowledge of rhythm, tempo, dynamics and syllables.

Many of us are still learning to write our own name and we practised each letter on a caterpillar segment to make name caterpillars. We also used our sequencing skills to show the butterfly life cycle.

The children have been having great fun exploring maths themes through our jungle topic. They measured each other using bananas, created butterflies to show symmetry and have been working hard to make their own repeating patterns using shape and colour. A main focus is learning to write our numbers correctly and we showed off our excellent work by writing numbers in the spider’s legs.
